　　You’ve probably seen the classic taste map before. It’s a diagram of a tongue divided into four sections. Each one represents a basic taste: sweet, sour, salty, and bitter. The map suggests that we taste these flavors on certain areas on our tongues. However, this is a myth that has been proven wrong by experts. The idea of the taste map first appeared on a research paper published in 1901.
