Although avoiding shopping is the main point of Buy Nothing Day, other creative forms of protest are sometimes used. One activity that draws a lot of attention is the credit card cut - up. People will gather at shopping centers with their credit cards in one hand and a pair of scissors in the other. Then, they will cut their cards into pieces. Another activity called the zombie walk is to show the way most people shop. In this walk, participants walk around shopping malls like zombies.

尽管避免购物是不消费日的重点，但有时也会采用其他有创意的抗议形式。其中一个吸睛的活动是剪信用卡。人们会一手拿著信用卡，一手拿著剪刀，聚集在购物中心。接著，他们会把他们的卡片剪成碎片。另一个活动被称作僵尸步行，是为了展示多数人购物时的模样。在这场步行当中，参与者像僵尸一样在购物中心到处游走。
