Few people today would argue that spaghetti is a staple food of Italy. However, the origins of spaghetti are a matter of debate. You are probably saying to yourself, “Surely, spaghetti is from Italy,” but do you know that for sure? Let’s see if we can untangle this plate of historical noodles. The most famous rumor has to do with the Italian explorer Marco Polo and his travels throughout Asia in the 13th century. He brought noodles from China back to Italy and wrote about a number of noodle dishes in his journals.
