In colder parts of the world, the beginning of spring is a beautiful sight. The winter chill starts to leave, and plants start to bloom. Spring is the perfect time to visit flower gardens like Keukenhof, which is located in the Netherlands. In the 15th century, the area was used to supply food for a castle. People planted fruits and vegetables and hunted for meat. For this reason, it was known as keukentuin, or “kitchen garden,” in Dutch.
