In the meantime, a temporary prayer hall has been built so that visitors can continue to pay their respects and pray to Tenjin. All of the elements used to build the temporary hall are inspired by the story of the flying plum tree. The story tells of a plum tree that loved Sugawara so much that it flew from Kyoto to Dazaifu in a single night to be with him. The design features a simple black structure with a beautiful roof that is covered with grass and trees.
