New Year’s Eve is a time for celebration. People around the world reflect on the past year and look forward to the one ahead. Traditions play an important role in marking the occasion, and one of the most interesting customs comes from Spain. At the stroke of midnight on New Year’s Eve, Spanish people eat grapes to bring good luck. They eat one grape for each of the 12 bell chimes and try to finish all 12 before the chimes end.
