The term " cancel culture" has become more and more popular over the past few years. Cancel culture is used to describe the idea of removing someone from a certain group or no longer supporting that person publicly because they did something offensive. When this happens, that person is "canceled. " This often happens on social media but can also occur in real life. The idea of canceling someone is nothing new. A 1981 song described breaking up with someone as canceling their love.
