Greenland’s name doesn’t really make sense. Contrary to what it’s called, most of the country isn’t green but white because it’s covered with snow and ice. In some parts of Greenland, this layer of ice extends two miles into the ground. Under all that snow and ice lies a rocky world. This landscape includes tall mountains and deep valleys. However, most of these natural features are totally hidden to the human eye.
格陵兰的名字不怎么合理。与它的名字相反，这个国家大部分的地区并不是绿色而是白色，因为它被冰雪覆盖。在格陵兰的某些地方，这层冰延伸至地面两英里的深度。在那冰雪之下是一个岩石世界。这个景观包含高山和深谷。然而，大部分的这些自然景观对人眼来说是完全隐蔽的。
