The discovery of Greenland’s icy Grand Canyon is quite surprising. How could something so large exist, and we only just recently noticed it? The canyon also helps scientists understand the environmental history of Greenland. Even though we would like to see the canyon up close, we don’t want all the ice covering it to melt. If it did, the world’s sea level would go up seven meters, which would do more harm than good.
