In The Day I Was Erased, it seems that young Maxwell is always getting into trouble of some kind. Though he may be annoying to some, he’s not all bad. He rescues his dog from being run over by a car, and he checks on his elderly neighbor, Reg, after school. Maxwell even wins a contest that benefits his school. However, those good deeds are quickly forgotten as soon as Maxwell messes up again. Before long, he comes to believe that everyone hates him, and he even goes so far as to wish he had never been born.
