Artists can be wild, and they often prefer to create their own rules. In the case of the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, it’s a great opportunity for them. The Edinburgh Festival Fringe is the third-largest cultural event in the world. It all started in 1947. This was the first year that Edinburgh hosted a festival for classical music and drama. Eight theater companies that were not invited showed up and performed their own shows at smaller venues in the city.
